Hazlewoods, which recently opened its first Cardiff office, has provided financial due diligence to St Mellons-based Iris Care Group in its acquisition of ALP Supported Living Services Ltd.
Iris Care Group is the leading specialist complex care provider in Wales and the South West of England. Their experienced team, comprised of over 1,700 staff, provides the full pathway of care for adults with complex support needs through specialist hospitals, residential homes, a dedicated educational needs college, nursing care and supported living services.
ALP Supported Living Services has been delivering high-quality care to adults across South Wales for over 20 years. Through this acquisition, Iris Care Group which is currently operating 31 services across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, has been able to scale its strong Supported Living division into Wales.
The acquisition has expanded the division into Wales by launching four new specialist supported living services, marking a key step in their wider growth strategy. The organisation aims to strengthen its offerings by acquiring and developing new, robust and specialised care and treatment services for adults with complex needs throughout the UK.
One of the largest independent accountants and business advisers in the South West, Hazlewoods has over 550 employees principally based in Cheltenham, along with a growing presence in Cardiff and Bristol. The firm specialises in accounting and advisory services for both corporate and private clients and is particularly well-known for its specialist sectors across the UK.
Hazlewoods’ healthcare corporate finance specialists Richard Dade, Alex Griffiths, and Jeremy Brass supported Iris Care Group by providing financial due diligence on the transaction.
Richard Dade, Partner at Hazlewoods, said: “Iris Care Group’s high-quality network of care and support services aligns with the values we see driving real impact in the care sector, and it’s great to see their growth strategy continue within Wales. It’s been a pleasure assisting them with this acquisition.”
Dr. Andrew Jones, CEO at Iris Care Group, added: “We’re delighted to add ALP Supported Living Services to our portfolio, allowing us to extend our high-quality supported living services into Wales. We look forward to building on our existing presence in England and Wales to implement our knowledge and expertise to ensure more people with complex needs access the right care in both regions.”
