Not content with running one of the most upmarket Village Shops in the Vale of Glamorgan, Village Shop, Wick has launched a new food and drink venture next door which is going down a storm with locals and coastal visitors alike.
Since opening its doors recently, The Nook in Wick has quickly established itself as one of the most talked-about new coffee spots along the Heritage Coastline – and for good reason.
This charming coffee shop is already drawing customers from far and wide, thanks to its inviting atmosphere, commitment to quality, and mouth-watering menu of locally sourced treats. Whether you’re popping in for a quick takeaway or settling down for a relaxed lunch, The Nook delivers on all fronts – and it’s both child and dog friendly too!
Our team popped in yesterday – and we loved it.
A True Celebration of Welsh Produce
At the heart of The Nook’s appeal is its exceptional offering of freshly ground Welsh coffees, iced speciality drinks and luxury teas. Carefully sourced and expertly brewed, these hot and cold drinks are the perfect pick-me-up – full of flavour, beautifully presented, and always served with a smile.
Alongside the drinks, The Nook takes real pride in championing local produce. From the hearty fillings in its made-to-order sandwiches and wraps to the fresh ingredients used in daily specials, and delicious freshly baked savouries, everything is thoughtfully selected to support local suppliers and showcase the best the region has to offer. It’s buzzing with excitement when you walk in, with the already regular locals singing the praises of the food, drinks and atmosphere.
A Tempting Range of Cakes and Lunch Options
One of the biggest draws is undoubtedly the impressive selection of cakes and bakes, all beautifully displayed and the perfect choice to accompany your delicious coffee – however those who want something more substantial won’t be disappointed, The Nook also offers a fantastic range of eat-in or takeaway lunch options – from fresh salads and artisan toasties to their already famous quiches and wraps. There are also weekly specials both in the Nook itself and also heat-at-home meals available from the shop next door.
It’s the ideal stop for walkers, cyclists, and anyone looking for a cosy lunch on the way home after spending a morning at the Vale’s stunning beaches – and thanks to a stunning mural designed by a local artist, it feels truly part of the area.
A Warm Welcome in the Heart of Wick
With its rustic-chic interiors, friendly staff, and attention to detail, The Nook offers more than just great coffee – it’s a place to relax, catch up with friends, and enjoy a moment of calm. The free WiFi and multiple seating arrangements also makes it a great destination for remote workers.
The Nook’s growing popularity is a testament to the quality of both the food and the experience, and it’s fast becoming a destination café for visitors from across the Vale – and of course, for the friendly Wick locals who are excited to be able to support another local business that has listened to what they want and delivered!
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Nook is one of those rare gems that feels like an instant favourite. With a warm welcome, an ever-evolving menu, and a clear passion for Welsh food and drink, it’s no surprise that people are already making a special trip just to pay it a visit. We will definitely be back.
