Communities across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Powys are facing unprecedented industrialisation, with proposals for wind farms, pylons, substations, solar developments and battery plants concentrated in some of Wales’ most historic landscapes. Local groups have formed to defend their communities, and concern is growing about the speed and scale of change.

The hustings will give the public a rare opportunity to question political representatives directly at the start of the 2026 Senedd campaign season.

CPRW can now confirm the following party representatives:

  • Cefin Campbell, Plaid Cymru
  • Gareth Beer, Reform UK
  • Richard Williams, Welsh Conservatives
  • Jason Barker, Heritage Party
  • Rob James, Wales Green Party
  • Julian Tandy, Welsh Liberal Democrats – speaker being finalised
  • Labour party speaker invited

Jonty Colchester, Chairman of CPRW, said:

“Our countryside is at a crossroads and we need political leadership that listens to rural Wales. This hustings event is an important chance for communities to put their concerns directly to candidates and ensure these issues cannot be ignored in the election ahead. We urge everyone who cares about the future of our landscapes and villages to join us, your presence really does matter.”

The event is open to all, and CPRW encourages residents from across the region to attend, bring questions and make their voices heard.
