Newport’s newest wellness and recovery destination, The Cold Room, officially opened its doors on Thursday, May 28th, welcoming local fitness and wellbeing businesses and professionals to celebrate the launch of a new space dedicated to helping people optimise recovery and improve resilience.
The Cold Room introduces a range of cutting-edge therapies to Newport, including Wales’ only two-person Mecotec Cryo:One+ cryotherapy chamber, allowing training partners, friends or couples to experience cryotherapy together.
The Mecotec Cryo:One+ exposes the full body to ultra-low temperatures for up to five minutes, triggering powerful natural repair and anti-inflammatory responses.
Benefits include accelerating muscle recovery and reducing inflammation, supporting injury rehabilitation and joint pain relief, boosting circulation and lymphatic drainage, increasing endorphins and natural energy levels, supporting metabolic efficiency, and enhancing mental clarity and focus.
Alongside cryotherapy, The Cold Room offers an Infrared Sauna, which heats the body directly, enabling deeper tissue penetration at a more comfortable temperature. Key benefits include deep muscle relaxation, supporting detoxification through sweat and improving circulation and cardiovascular conditioning, making it ideal for stress reduction and post-training recovery.
