Free Wrexham event to help young people explore their future

Young people in Wrexham who are unsure about their next steps will be able to explore their options and access support at a free event next month.

Working Wales is bringing an “Inspire Youth” event to the Wrexham careers centre on Tuesday 7 July.

The event will bring together local organisations to offer advice, guidance and opportunities in a welcoming and informal setting.

Event details:

  • Date: Tuesday 7 July 2026
  • Time: 11am – 2pm
  • Location: Wrexham Careers Wales Centre, Egerton House, Rhosddu Road, Wrexham, LL11 1EQ

The event is aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who may be leaving school or college, looking for work, or unsure about their future.

Attendees will be able to meet with careers advisers and a wide range of local organisations to get tailored advice and guidance on education and training opportunities

Designed to be accessible and supportive, the event will offer a more personalised experience. Each organisation will have its own space and will work alongside Working Wales advisers, helping young people explore their options in more depth.

Two workshops with limited spaces will also take place during the event:

  • 11.30am – 12.15pm: What next – no idea? Supporting young people to explore different career ideas and identify possible next steps.
  • 12.45pm – 1.30pm: Me and my skills – helping young people recognise their skills and how they can use them moving forward.

A range of organisations will be present, including:

  • Communities for Work Plus (CfW+)
  • The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • The King’s Trust
  • We Mind the Gap

Laura Griffiths, team manager at Careers Wales, said: “We know that many young people can feel unsure about what to do next, especially when there are so many options available.

“This event brings together local organisations in one place, making it easier to access the right support. We hope everyone who attends leaves feeling more confident and informed about their next steps.”

Working Wales is delivered by Careers Wales and funded by the Welsh Government to provide careers guidance and employability support to those aged 16 and above.
