Vision Arts is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its popular Minis Summer Youth Project, with bookings now open for this year’s week-long programme aimed at inspiring the next generation of young performers across Pembrokeshire.
The annual project has become a firm favourite with local families since it was first launched five years ago, welcoming hundreds of children and giving them their first taste of theatre, performance and creative arts in a fun and supportive environment.
Returning this summer, the project is open to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and promises another exciting week of acting, singing, dancing, storytelling and imaginative play.
Designed for youngsters with a love of performing – whether they’re putting on shows at home, inventing characters or simply enjoy expressing themselves creatively – the initiative focuses on building confidence, encouraging teamwork and helping children develop new skills while making lasting friendships.
Throughout the week, participants will work alongside professional arts practitioners, taking part in a variety of interactive workshops before preparing for a special performance for family and friends at the end of the project.
Drew Baker, Creative Director at Vision Arts, said:
“The Minis Summer Youth Project has become one of the highlights of our year. Watching young people grow in confidence, make new friendships and discover a love for the arts is incredibly rewarding. We are thrilled to be celebrating the fifth year of this wonderful project and can’t wait to welcome another group of talented young performers this summer.”
The 2026 programme will run from Monday 20 July until Friday 24 July, with daily sessions taking place between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The week will conclude with a showcase performance at 2.30pm on Friday 24 July, giving the young performers the opportunity to demonstrate everything they have learned during the project.
Organisers say the week is designed to be filled with creativity, laughter, friendship and memorable experiences, while helping children gain confidence both on and off the stage.
With places limited and demand traditionally high, families are being encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
